Open throughout the year a warm welcome awaits you at The Willeymoor Lock Tavern.
Located on the Cheshire - Shropshire border, the Willeymoor is a family run traditional country pub.
Formerly a Lock Keepers cottage, converted into a small licenced cafe in the 60's, then transformed into a pub in 1978 by Elsie Gilkes and family, the current owners.
The Willeymoor is well known for its waterside location beside a working lock on the Llangollen canal … a perfect setting to gongoozle !
Outside there is a large beer garden, canal side seating, terrace and a children’s play area.
Popular with locals, walkers, boaters and tourists - be it a quick pint, lunchtime snack, pit-stop from a hard day cruising or a special occasion, informal and unpretentious, we offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy.
We have an array of classic pub dishes complimented by a selection of hand-pull cask ales, beers, spirits, wines, hot beverages and soft drinks.
Children and well behaved dogs (on leads) are most welcome.
PUB AND KITCHEN OPENING TIMES
We do not open all day !
As a small family run pub we keep traditional pub hours, closing every afternoon between 3pm and 6pm
even during the summer months.
OPEN 5 DAYS A WEEK (WEDNESDAY - SUNDAY)
12PM - 2.30PM EVERY LUNCHTIME
6PM - 10PM EVERY EVENING
Our kitchen is open 12pm - 2pm and 6pm - 8:30pm every day
DRINKS
Over the past four decades the Willeymoor Lock Tavern has fostered a reputation for its variety of cask ales - we have a constantly changing line up of hand-pull beers please ring to find out what we currently have available.
We regularly source beers from Salopian, Stonehouse, Weetwood, Beartown, Peakstone Rock and Lymestone to name a few .... beers from Greene King also regularly feature.
Our draught products include Peroni, Carling, San Miguel, Henry Westons Vintage , Aspall Cyder, Level Head IPA, Icebreaker, and Belhaven Black stout.
Our fully stocked bar has all the usual spirits including over 20 malt Whiskies and a variety of Gin's, along with Wines, soft drinks and hot beverages - not to forgetting the bottled ciders, beers, non and low alcohol options in our chiller.
PARKING
THERE IS NO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY & NO PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE CANAL TOWPATH

We have ample parking for customers on our private car park
Please be aware that the drive, car park and foot bridge are private property and are offered for customer use whist visiting the pub, there is no public right of way.
If you would like to combine a walk in the area with a visit to the pub please call and pre-book.
Charges apply for all non customer cars
:- £10 per day per car
(this provides up to 12 hours parking from 10am - 10pm strictly no overnight stays unless authorized)
We respectfully request that any customers intending to leave a car and get a taxi home after visiting the pub inform one of our team (this is essential for Insurance purposes).
When arriving by car The Willeymoor Lock Tavern can only be accessed from the A49 - please Do Not attempt to gain access from the A41 - our drive is located directly off the A49, opposite Greenbank Business Park, Bradeley Green Lane SY13 4HD
If you are travelling by boat, we are located between Poveys and Quoiseley Locks with plenty of unrestricted moorings.
